The Pilates Studio follows the government guidelines for re-opening during Covid-19. We are committed to safe practice conditions for all our clients and staff and we will send details to you prior to your booking confirmation.

Personal Tuition & Assessments

Clients who are new to the studio require an hour individual assessment/induction session prior to joining group classes. If you are a newcomer to Pilates or yoga or if you have a musculoskeletal or medical condition this is especially important. The session involves discussing your medical history and symptoms followed by a physical assessment and introduction to pilates. This enables us to  recommend a suitable level of class for you to join and to offer appropriate exercise adaptation or modifications to you.  All of the Studio’s Pilates teachers offer personal training and tuition.

  • Assessment / Induction session: from £55
  • Personal Tuition: from £50 Online / £55 in-person in-studio (solo) / The price of a shared in studio tuition for two is £70 (£35 x 2)

Many of our group classes are currently being delivered online or off site while the studio timetable is suspended.

Pilates Matwork Classes

Our mat-based in-studio Pilates classes are for a maximum of 7 clients in which everybody receives individual attention. If you are new to Pilates, are suffering from back pain or have medical condition a 1:1 assessment/induction session is required prior to joining a group matwork class.

We offer Pilates classes aimed at different levels of fitness and needs:

Gentle & Mindful Pilates – suitable for newcomers, as well as more experienced clients, to stay strong and agile and ease physical tensions in a spacious and breath-filled class.

Modified Pilates – suitable for newcomers, as well as more experienced clients who are progressing on to new challenges but with adaptations offered within a supportive class that takes care of individual needs.

Dynamic Pilates – You willsculpt, tone and condition your whole body, with sequences for core stability, suppleness, strength and vitality.

Men’s Pilates Group – There are times when being the only male in class can feel lonely –specifically for the male physique this class will strengthen your upper body and core muscles, trim and tone your midriff whilst targeting tight areas around the hips, hamstrings, and lower back. Newcomers will benefit from having a personal induction session prior to joining a group class (see above) after that most will be good to go.

Backcare class

These classes are a chance to touch base and make friends with your back. Gentle somatic movement patterns exchanging tension and pain for inner core strength and stability, ease of movement and rebuild confidence. This is a mat-based session with a maximum of 7 clients. An assessment session is required before joining the group.

Pilates Equipment Studio Sessions

The Pilates Studio Equipment creates a multi-dimensional exercise environment that both challenges and supports the body by training precision alignment, fine-tuning muscle recruitment, proprioception and coordination, resistance and weights to promote strength, range of movement and control. We offer personal training (1-2-1) and individual programmes within small group using the Pilates Reformer, EXO Chair, Pilates Arc, Tye 4, and smaller equipment such as Pilates Ring, Foam Roller, gym ball, weights, etc. Newcomers to Pilates Equipment required to an initial induction session. Ideal for post-rehabilitation of injury or to take your training to the next level!

Seniors Chair-based classes

– for postural strength, balance and falls prevention.

Chair-based yoga is a gentle and calming class, aimed for those who find floor work less suitable for whatever reason. We always start with calming the breath, and then focus on releasing areas of commonly hold tension.  We move on to gentle bodywork and balance, to improve flexibility and posture, ending with a relaxation.

Chair-based Pilates – Targeting Postural muscles to keep strong, flexible and improve balance and ease of movement in seated class for those who find floor work less suitable.


Dynamic Yoga – A strengthening and supportive asana practice with dynamic and restorative components working through the whole body cleansing and revitalising.

  • 1½ hour x 6-week block: £72

Terms & Conditions

Studio Classes are mostly offered in 6-week blocks throughout the year. Fees are due by the first class of each block and are non-refundable once a block has commenced. Payment reserves your place in the class, therefore absences cannot be refunded or carried over. A swap system is in place (see studio swap book) however, swaps are subject to availability. Re-booking with priority applies at the end of a 6-week block when if you wish to continue your next payment is due in order to reserve a continued place in the class. Places cannot be held without payment and may be reallocated. If you do not wish to continue please let your teacher know in good time.

One to one tuition: Please give as much notice as possible if you are unable to attend. A cancellation fee may be charged for less than 24 hours notice.

When not to exercise:

After a heavy meal, under the influence of alcohol, if you are injured or unwell.

Please do not attend with flu-like symptoms or if you’ve had a gastrointestinal infection in the last 48 hrs.

Under no circumstances attend if you have symptoms of Covid-19 (persistent new cough, fever, loss/change of taste or smell) or within 14 days of having been in contact with someone who is ill with Covid-19 or have travelled in the last 14 days from an an affected area. The studio may decline to teach anyone who displays CV-19 symptoms.

When you arrive and during class:

  • Please wash your hands before you come into the studio and again as you leave – the bathrooms are stocked with soap and disposable paper towels for maintaining hand hygiene.
  • Please remove your shoes outside the studio. Bring valuables in with you. Please have your phone on silent – unless you have reason to be on call and have informed the class instructor.
  • A mat and headrest are provided for your use in the studio but you are welcome to bring and use your own if you prefer. During Covid-19 pandemic we request clients to bring their own mat or a large towel and head rest for their use during the class, and teachers will refrain from using props in the lesson.
  • Please ask if you are unsure about an instruction. If you experience discomfort or pain during an exercise be sure to stop and let the instructor know.
  • If you are pregnant or if you have a medical condition please check with your GP that it is appropriate for you to exercise in a class before you attend and let your Pilates instructor know.
  • If you have been unwell or your health has changed since your last class please let the class teacher know.
  • Please be considerate to those receiving treatments in Therapy Rooms elsewhere in the building and leave quietly after the class. Thank you. Enjoy your class!

Fire exits are via the main ground floor entrance and via the first floor therapy room opposite the top of the staircase (sign posted). The fire assembly point is around the corner opposite the library outside Rix & Kays Solicitors.

All classes are offered only on the understanding that you are personally responsible for your own physical and mental well-being and are taking part at your own risk. The instructions given in all classes are not intended as a substitute for medical consultation and any liability from and in connection with this program is disclaimed. If you experience any pain while doing these exercises you must stop and inform the teacher – do not hesitate to contact the instructor if you have difficulty during an online class. If symptoms persist you should consult your doctor or a health professional. Always consult your health care professional before performing any new exercise, particularly if you are pregnant, elderly or if you have an injury, any chronic or recurring conditions.

Privacy Policy

  • To help teachers to devise an exercise program for you and/or to enable you to participate in the classes that we offer in the studio,  clients are required to complete and date a health questionnaire and provide information about past and present medical history. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), all personal data and circumstances are held in the strictest confidence.
  • All client records and treatment records are stored in a safe and secure environment. We do not and will not share your information with any other persons or third parties unless requested by yourself in writing. Your records may  be held for up to 7 years from the last point of contact (in the case of minors, 7 years after they turn 18 years of age).
  • Some clients are referred to the studio from physiotherapists, osteopaths and other health providers. We may wish to liaise with another health provider regarding your medical condition and your participation in an exercise program but we can only do so with your signed consent.
  • In the event of your class being covered/taught by a stand-in teacher, it may be necessary for purpose of safe delivery of the class for some of the information that you have given on the health to be disclosed to that teacher. Cover teachers do not otherwise have access to your information and do not retain personal  data for clients in the classes that they cover.
  • Occasionally the Pilates Studio teachers may need to contact you to rearrange an appointment or discuss your program. In this instance we will use either the email or phone number that you have provided.
  • You have the right to view the information teachers hold about you by requesting in writing to: The Pilates Studio, Seaford Osteopathic Clinic, Warwick Road, Seaford BN25 3NN.
  • From time to time we may wish to send you information about other classes, workshops or events that the Pilates Studio is offering that may be of interest to you and will use your contact details to do this. You have the option to be removed from my mailing list by writing to Pilates Studio, Seaford Osteopathic Clinic, Warwick Road, Seaford BN25 3NN or sending an email to the relevant teacher who has collected your data for the purpose of  the class/es you are attending.
